OUR HEART:

Bringing transformation through Christ to a diverse community.

OUR IDENTITY:

We are a multicultural and multiethnic Christian church proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ: evangelizing, baptizing and discipling according to the Word of God for the peace and transformation of New London and beyond.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

You are welcome just the way you are! Whether this is your first time ever walking into a faith-based community, or you’re are interested in returning to the faith. We make it a priority to invite you to join us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

WE BELIEVE:

  1. In the Divine Trinity that revealed itself in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  2. In God the Son, Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Spirit, born from a virgin, who is all God and all man.

  3. In the Holy Spirit as the representative of Jesus Christ on earth, sent by the Father, to fill, guide, help, convince, sanctify, and strengthen with its continuous and powerful presence for the faith of believers.

  4. In the Bible as the Word of God that contains revelation of the divine plan for the salvation of mankind. The Holy Scriptures are the only and final authority of all faith and behavior. Every believer guided by the Holy Spirit is able to read and understand the Holy Scriptures on their own.

  5. In salvation by grace, which is through repentance and faith in the expiatory work of Jesus Christ on the cross and by no other means.

  6. In the baptism of believers by immersion as a testimony of their faith and commitment to the Lord.

  7. In the participation of each believer in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper in obedience to the mandate of the Lord.

  8. In the universal priesthood of all believers. We believe that all believers can have a personal and direct relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, without human intermediaries, or rituals and ceremonies.

  9. In the autonomy of the local church. We believe that each congregation is autonomous to deal with its internal affairs, select their own pastor, and to determine their relationship with other churches without being under the control of any other ecclesiastic body.

  10. In freedom of religion and separation of church and state.

CHURCH DEMOGRAPHIC

We are a church that is truly a representative of the diverse demographics of the city we serve. We embrace the diversity among us (racially, culturally, economically, in age, gender, and by the languages we use in ministry). We are a church which embodies the words of Galatians 3:28: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

MINISTRY DIVERSITY

We are a church in which we minister to the specific needs of the people we serve and in doing so, reach them with the Gospel.

We will endeavor to always be focused outward, seeking to first serve the needs of others "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." (Matthew 20:28)

WORSHIP DIVERSITY

We are a church in which God is worshipped in a wide variety of languages. We are guide by the principle of worship as stated in Hebrews 12:28-29, "Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire.'"

CHRISTO-CENTRIC AND EVANGELISTIC

We are a church that is Christ-centered and Bible-based and in which sound doctrine is both taught and practiced. We share our faith with others and in so doing fulfill the Great Commission which was given to the church by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

SERVANTS AND STEWARDS

We are a church in which good stewardship is taught and practiced on both a personal and corporate level. We seek to be good stewards of the human, financial and property resources that God has provided to us to do his work. We will be guided by the principal found in Matthew 25:21 that those who are faithful with a few things will be given charge of many things.

DENOMINATIONAL AFFILIATION

With the purpose to fulfill its mission in an including way, this church shall maintain its affiliation with:

This body acknowledges that it is also free to voluntarily cooperate and affiliate with other Christian groups in order to fulfill its missionary purposes.
